I wanted to hide my affiliates links on my website. I was considering using tinyurl to do this. My question to everyone is will this cause any problem with the tracking with my url. Please let me know if anyone has used tinyurl and commission junction links together.

yes you can do this without any tracking problems but you should consider whether or not you want you affiliate links running through a third (unknown) party.

there are more elegant ways to hide your link.

read this http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=667301 it may help

Instead of using tinyurl, you can achieve same results with your own domain modifying your .htaccess file.

No, actually you can't do that without previously informing all of your merchants and classifying your site as a "special traffic" situation.

The Publisher Support and Compliance Director said:

"If you are going to use redirects such as tinyurl.com that is something that has to be formally disclosed as a special traffic situation, so that advertisers are aware of their use by you when determining whether to affiliate or not."

At that point all of you affiliations will reset until the merchants decide if this is okay with them or not and re-accept you.
