    mostly not, but you better use search engine friendly URLs, URLs with keywords in it.

    Generally no it will not help you at all with seo.. however it can help with traffic, the amiunt of links you can get out there, branding, and other marketing benefits. Especially if you use a site like www.nik.im that takes it outside the box and has better pro services than bit.ly

    I understand that tiny URLs won't provide any SEO advantage. I am curious to know whether Tiny URLs will be providing any disadvantage with respect to SEO.

    In other words, in my tweets whether I need to avoid using tiny urls ?

    Yes it doesn't help in any kind of SEO. It only use to shorten your Long Tail URL it mostly use on doing SMO while on Twitter and facebook....

    Tiny URL doesn't help in seo. Mostly it's used on social networking sites like twitter, tumbrl, facebook etc.
