Why would you use TinyURL? The destination URL doesn't really have a character limit. The display URL below the ad must match the eventual landing page, not the redirect link. So if you had Tinyurl.com/1234 redirecting to JohnDoe.com, your visible/display URL would have to be JohnDoe.com
They will... But when they manually review the ad, then it will be removed. You will have no problem for few weeks.
Why are you using TinyURL, though? There's no reason to do it... why add a useless hidden redirect that nobody will ever see? And what if TinyURL goes down?
He's got a point. Why would you use tinyurl ? It's just simple redirect. It is allowed in Adwords and is mainly used for statistics
Should be OK as long as the display URL is the same as destination URL... so if the display URL shows https://example.com & the final destination URL is http://example.com, it should be fine.. since Google as well knows you might want to track your visitor hence are sending the visitor to one URL before redirecting him to the final
Ok i'm lost, my understanding was the display and actual URL needed to be the same? e.g. URL: www.abc.com/145872/products/widgets.asp Display: "www.abc.com/widgets", is ok However, display: "www.abc.co.uk/widgets" or "www.widgets.com", would not be? So if your display does not reflect the tiny URL how would this work?
I have a new-found interest in this topic now that there are a bunch of more interesting url shorteners out there like bit.ly that add a bunch of meta-data/count stats etc. - this could be really useful if you didnt have enough access to ultimate landing page, ie you were running an outsourced campaign. Does this make any sense?
