Timeline for title update in google

Does anyone know even roughly how long it would take for google to take into account a new title or description i have put in place of the old one.
I have to experiment with my title and description to make it more relevant and was wondering if i could keep making even small changes and find some kind of pattern in keyword ranking as i did?

For me it's usually between 24 and 72 hours. Just depends how quickly the googlebot visits your page.

Can't say for sure... I changed the description and title for my website recently which was reflected on the G SERPs but after a day or two it again showed the old title and description.

It will depend on the how often Google indexes your pages, but as soon as the pages are indexed, it will affect your SERPs.

Google's index often tends to lose a couple of weeks cache and then reverts back to the newly cached pages after a day or two. There is another thread somewhere about this ...... sorry, couldn't find it!

You might take a look at the sleeping bag thread where various type of analysis such as this were done - one of the reasons I always post WHEN a page is spidered (versus when it is changed) is the former is all that matters to Google.

And to echo other people's comments, my experience is 24-72 hours after a change I see "stuff" happen.

for most of us, we get recrawled, well, a lot.

if you have a less popular page it might take up to a month

the higher your PR (or, the more incoming links you have), and the frequency of how often you make changes to the page will help determine how often you get crawled
