Guys i always see the same topics..how many websites you own, how much monthly etc etc you make.
I thought i would add my two cents.
Listen carefully the game is up for the most of the webmasters..to make money in this in a serious way was in the early days of adsense.
Dont let the Gurus sell you dreams that most of the 98 + % will never achieve.

Simply Google has awaken/webmasters have awaken and done it to death and numerous other factors too much to get into..already start to put it in the very hard basket for GOOD returns Unless you work your site Like a demon.

Personally I used to have hundreds,..then i went and deleted them all..never felt better no more headaches ,bandwith wasting,or time wasting checking them all or submiting to this and that etc or whats the latest SEO algo's blah blah..

yeah sure i made a few cents and dollars, and received the odd check here and there...

BUT when i weighed it up for my Time/Effort/Sweat/Worry from Big G etc etc if you get my drift..IT SIMPLY WAS NOT PAYING THE RETURNS for all of the above invested.

Dont forget Peoples you are investing yourself and TIME as if you are working in a factory or packing shelves at a supermarket..AND if the retuns do not justify it..HEY it is better and more HOLY to spend TIME with family and kids rather the in front of PC

This adsense thing has taken a lot of People by the Balls or Clit :p ..and brainwashed them into this fantasy of easy money and returns ..when in fact those days are over for 98 % of the market..It was good early not now for "most".

To answer your question..yes i have only Few now that check once a week to play around with update etc..but could not care less really as i make all my money through affiliate and products.

Sell one sale a month of say $29 beats $1 day adsense easily ,and does not need checking or all the worries that it comes with...even though i enjoy and still love adsense...as i think in general it has done wonders for IM and websites/webmasters too much to get into in this reply.

sorry guys for the ramble..i read and enjoy forum daily but sometimes motivated to write..just cought me in the motivated to write mood :) So I thought i would start a thread and see what replys, and what people are thninking on the topic in general. My brain is full elfs and demons talking waiting to come out and go for another ten pages of ramble but i better stop LOL

Best regards and Peace to all.

Adsense is successful for the person who is dedicated and not looking for quick riches.

It's CJ and other affiliates that are the ripoff.

First year- more time, more effort, less adsense
second year-still more time, still more effort, more adsense
third year- reasonable time, reasonable effort, still more adsense
fourth year onwards, repeat from first year, and see your online empire growing
be an "armchair tycoon" (sorry it was a decade old get rich quick scheme hehe)

To be honest, whilst I certainly like the income my site and the newish site bring, I am also one of those people who just cannot stop being busy working at something and who enjoys seeing what I produce being read and/or being of interest to people.

That said, if I was merely doing it for the money (though I’m earning well) I would probably not work quite as hard and, as a result, would not expect to see the same level of return (as contradictory as this may seem).

Whilst it is true that some (very few) stumble on a ‘magic’ formula for money making with comparatively little work, in the main I think you only need to read through these forums to see that many earn relatively small amounts. Nothing wrong with that – we all start from somewhere – but I do get a little sick of people posting topics like ‘How can I make $100/$1000/$10,000 a day’ when they only have a couple of posts on their site or when their site is, frankly, a disaster or, worse, based merely on the cut and pasting of others material.

Can you make good money from Adsense? Of course you can – and many do - but, like the topic starter states, in 99.9% of instances it requires you to work like a dog and get through the disheartening beginning stages – and that’s what, if you don’t mind me saying, sorts the men from the boys.

Approaching Adsense with the intelligence to understand that few things in life come easily (money especially so) and that you can expect to work for peanuts for a mighty long time is the secret.

The key is a good mixture between passion and a business mentality (passion for your subject matter and fierce determination regarding work ethic).

To put this into perspective, if I stated how much I’m earning you might be impressed but I won’t give away such details without also divulging just how many hours I work to get the money – and if I did that, you’d laugh.

Work hard, be passionate, and be realistic about your earnings whilst having the foresight to build the foundations for future earnings (whilst not being too scared to dream) and you’ll see a return. The level of that return depends on you.

Your right, it is not worth it! That is if you are looking for that great rich quick scheme that never quite pans out. Anything takes time and hard work. Adsense is not the end all to be all but it can bring you some good income combined with other ways.

Sounds a bit like you may have been banned at one point or another.

You all make some good points, and Atingle's response is worth reading.

You see guys people forget when the adsense first came out..a lot of so called gurus were pushing the barrel to the tilt trying to make and milk adsense as a vehicle to make money via selling products in adsense etc.

BUt here is what they do not tell you.

1.Google did not "care" for ppc with adsense then.
    2.They do know.
3.Back then you could set up ONLY 10 adsense sites and drive insane traffic to it via ppc(imagine the money rolling in)..NOT now..as it has come back in the fold just like any other site that needs and survives on popularity and viral affects and needs.

So what did they(so called Gurus) do ...woohoooo they set up insane traffics via ppc to their adsense sites made huge monthly checks, the pasted and showed these videos/checks/ etc etc to the world ..KNEW that sooner or later Googs would stop this..thus sold their adsense products with countless Products and backends etc.
Listen up if i am making 1million on adsense i need no reason to sell a product or tell anyone my secrets to dilute my money pool and Grind a good horse to death..Get my drift

The dream is still there..BUT NOW requires REAL HARD WORK..a few words that will scare most. :p

What I like about AdSense is the fact that I earn money even when I'm on vacation ;)

    The OP has strong points.

I have been analyzing this adsense thing, and I would say...give it a couple of years, and it will go bust.

Do you know why? Too many publishers, too few advertisers, Adblock, and general immunity to Adsense among the general public.

Because....90% of traffic is from North America, and there is probably NO ONE from there who hasnt gone online to surf, and not seen an Adsense ad.

Don't forget, 100,000 blogs are created EVERYDAY. Almost all of them....have Adsense in mind.

That's why Google stopped the Referrals program recently for many. They just don't have the stomach to handle everyone anymore...and this is not counting all the MFA guys

That;s why you have a lot of wanton bans these days by Google. Also, a lot of delisting...Adsense bans...site deindexing...etc.

The point is: Competition is killing it for everyone. Well, blame it on those make money online blogs, who only now realize they can't make money :D
