    Hi,

I am having trouble getting time usage billing to work.
In preferences I had default time, bandwidth billing set
This invoiced all customers with usage charges, even though their billing plans didn't include usage plans

Hence from the customer usage screen I removed the default usage, bandwidth plans.
(I have made a product and added a usage product to that product)
Under customer billing I have selected the new plan, however it doesn't seem to update under the usage info. I manualy updated plans under usage. However no matter what I try I can't generate an invoice which shows/charges for the usage

any thoughts would be much appreciated

    regards

    Tim

Usage billing is not tied to their billing cycle items. If a customer is over their allowed usage (as defined under their Usage screen), it would try to bill for the overage.

thanks for getting back to me Shawn.

Why would the usage plan (as defined under the usage screen) not update when their billing plan is changed.

I have set up month billing cycles plans with a usage component, however the extra usage doesn't get billed for

    regards

The usage plan is only set when the customer is setup initially. After the fact, it does not get reset because a customer can have an infinite number of billing cycle items.

    Hi Shawn,

to me it seems perfectly logical to tie the usage to a billing cycle item
It would seem to be the easiest way to manage it.

How do I get on when I change a customer from a usage based plan to an unlimited plan or vice-versa?

    Say I have 20, 30 and 60hr monthly plans
Can I use a single extra usage plan or will I need to create an extra usage plan for each

    regards

    Tim
