Nate I am less focused on the crash aspect(not entirely). What im more concerned with is our foreign policy and how it relates to oiuyr economy here. I totally agree with bringing the soldiers home and the cost savings it would bring and use that money back home to help the economy and also invest in alternative energy instead of using the oil as a part time excuse to control 3rd world countries and shove our beliefs and ideals down their throats. The soldiers can also be deployed across the border to protect against illegal crossings and terrorists getting into our country. The fact is our empire is tretching thin and i dont know about anyone else on this forum but this is as realistic as it gets. Obamanation, also I dont see much of a distinction between the republicans and democrats of today. We are basically being force fed one puppet after another and every 4 years we complain and then do the same thing over and over like some reconditioned livestock in a farm.
Well, they are already starting a security agreement with Iraq where everyone is out by 2012.....and as of July 1st, out of all Iraqi cities. I'm curious how that one went. And whether we abandoned Abu Graib and the other prisons/detainee camps around Iraq. As I know of some in Baghdad alone. Afghanistan....yeah. Since Bush completely screwed that one up, its going to be years until thats ready. However, I think Afghanistan will kick us out before then. They are much more able to maintain their security than Iraqis are so...lol. And with this major offensive, that isn't anything like what was done in Iraq, it may actually work out better. The difference between this and how the Iraq surge was, we didn't announce where we were going until it was started. And after everything gets cleared out there is still going to be a presence there. In Iraq when we went through, we would go block by block, literally. And it wasn't a continuous operation. It was around 12 hours a day, sometimes 18, usually between those, and we would just go through the city. The insurgents would move their stuff to already cleared areas. Now, about the two partys...yeah, they are pretty much the same thing. And people don't understand that. You hear about those 1 term congressmen right? They are usually the ones that are trying to get something done. Something that is actually right. And not trying to play the political crap, trying to honestly do the right thing. Well, they get ruined by the old crusty people that put millions of dollars in earmarks to pet projects.
If you weren't trying to get your post count up posting in several threads saying the exact same thing lol, I'd be delighted!
Well as a libertarian, I would never tell somebody to "Wake Up!" or to "wake up reality." because reality is just an individual's interpretation of what's happening around them, and everyone has there own interpretation. What you're really saying is, "Wake up to my reality!" because, "in my reality there is suffering and tremendous injustice around us." Well that's your interpretation, and it's an interpretation that justifies your feelings, attitudes and actions.
Reality is what you make of it, as in every person's mind, as stated before, there is a different "reality". In mine, I see a world ripe for the taking... for example.
The "reality" I'm living in seems to be the same one most everyone else is living in. You on the other hand, along with almost every other libertarian happen to be living in a completely different one. I was very hardcore about my beliefs before, and I read a lot of the stuff that's out there for them, and everything is bent and manipulated to support the philosophy. They look at and blow out of proportion things that make it look good and shrug off and ignore the things that don't, their reality is completely unbalanced and disproportional. Yeah, you're right, you could say everyone has their own view of "reality". Our perspectives and view of the world are shaped by our beliefs however, and when you believe in something so strongly, your view of the world has to change to support that belief. So as reality hits you, you have to hurry up and twist it in such a way that it will fit and make sense to you, since you accept nothing but your rigid beliefs. I don't need to twist the truth however, reality has more importance to me than a stinking philosophy.
Yep Lonestar, as far as Iraq goes it could go both ways. It all depends on how close Iraq and Iran are together now that a shiite is in power in Iraq. If those 2 countries even come close to combining then they instantly become a powerhouse because of their oil resources, but as far as al quaeda, how can the iraqi government make sure that they dont come back again later after those areas have been swept out? As far as the 2 party system, the last independent that had a chance was perot , and from what i read he was screwed out of some money that was promised to him after he gained above a certain percentage of votes. The 2 parties actually got together to make sure he didnt get it or the attention he was supposed to get after. What can the American people do to make their voices heard and break the strangle hold that the media and the 2 party system hold?, and how can we make sure that these honest 1 term congressmen who are doing whats best for us get another term in office?
build a similar site...basically a static flash site that has a osCommerce of open source type shopping cart that would be awesome...
What I'm really saying is nothing in this world is new, or happening because we live in some unique time or place. it's just our interpretation, and most of the time we're more concerned about looking good, or avoiding looking bad than making a difference in this world. No offense, we're all on that same boat, I'm just suggesting that we really should observe what's happening in the world around us, without our beliefs of morality, or judgement. Life happens around us and has little to do about us, but if you can truly go through life without our narrow judgements we start moving to a life where EVERYTHING is possible. I'm not trying to be right, I'm just sharing different possibilities that could arise.
