This is such a pain in the back! Have you ever tried designing a complex website to be compatible with all major browsers? I'm tempted to just stick a great big banner saying:"Designed for firefox, if you don't like it, **** off!" I have just wasted a week on something that does not work in IE. Now i have to go through pages and pages of code to make it work...
Long time no see! How you been? I guess i just lack experience. Its not about knowing CSS, its about applying it.
You are, iv seen some of your work. I think im ok though. I need to figure it out myself and possibly even learn something new. Thanks anyway.
If you have a banner saying your site is designed for a certain browser then you shouldn't be coding. If you code correctly then your page should work in all major browsers. Plus it's not the browsers faults. The browsers all need standards to work to. If I had my way I would make all browsers have a set standard they have to work to, a set way of doing things (correcting code, etc). It'd make life easier. It's improved with the new IE7 come out, and will improve in the future.
It was a joke. Ok so if i use fixed position and someone tries to view the page with an out of date IE and the image starts jumping around when scrolling. That does not mean i did not correctly code my page. I'm not blaming the browsers. I'm not happy with differences. Trouble is, people still use out of date browsers.
Because not everyone would agree on the same browser.. I have a domain name website where almost half of my visitors are FireFox users. on the other side; I have a bingo website where 85% of the users are IE users.. I guess you need to build your site according to the majority of your traffic, though that is hard I'm sure.
I dont mind getting it to work in firefox and ie7... its also getting it to work with ie6 that starts to piss me off. Dont know why people cant update their crap.
