Time to make revenue?

I read a guide on professional blogging which I paid for and it said that it's best to start a blog as a fun experiment without any revenue generation what so ever on the blog. That way, you get the hang of blogging, and also make your blog appear more attractive then 90% of the other blogs out there since there will be no ads cluttering it up.

I've had my blog for 18 days, do you think this is this long enough to add a revenue generation method e.g. Google Adsense, donation or whatever?

I would put it on from the start, but that's just my 2 cents.

No one will hardly ever donate any money to your site through donation buttons.

So just stick with a couple simple adsense ads or find a good affiliate to promote. Just don't throw ads up all over, keep it simple and nice looking.

If you going to use adsense, make sure the traffic is targeted (coming for a search engine). To make good money with adsense you need people to click on the ads and buy from the advertisers or else you account with be smart priced. Instead of making $1 a click you will make $.05.

Wow. for a blog only 18 days old, you are off to a great start. your number of visitors is looking good for a young blog. Have you done any marketing yet? Where are the visitors coming to you from?

    Hi,

Thanks for your comments, feels great to be told something positive about what I'm doing. I got $50 free adwords with my host and used $25 of it on 13 Sep as you can see traffic shot up that day.

Afterwards, I didn't use Adwords anymore as it wasn't what I need for my site as I wasn't selling anything and was just a waste for my blog. So, I'm using that for another site.

I've just added to directories, submitted to digg and posted on forums really for the main part.

@Sport302 I was told that I'd be surprised to how much people donate to blog owners especially the ones with ad free.
