I uploaded 6 new pages on 3-1, 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6 and 3-7. The chart below shows the number of days from "on-the-web", to "SERPs being returned", from the big 3 search engines. Submit---Live------Live----Live Day------Google----MSN-----Yahoo 3-1---------6--------10---- >26 days, still waiting 3-3--------13---------8------17 (in, then out, in, then out) 3-4--------12---------7---- >26 days, still waiting 3-5--------11---------6---- >26 days, still waiting 3-6--------10---------5------18 (in, then out, in, then out) 3-7---------9---------4---- >26 days I had 1,173 inktomi slurp hits (Yahoo) during the period. I had 481 Googlebot hits during the period. I had 192 MSN hits during the period. Sorry about the formatting - this software collapses consecutive spaces. I conclude that the biggest factor in "time-to-live" is luck - when did you happen to jump into THEIR cycle (Google and MSN). The bot visit frequency for YOU is mostly determined by YOUR recent site updating frequency history. I have no clue how Yahoo works, referencing the above data. Lots of visits, but little indexing.
