Wow, the keyword you chose has good monthly searches yet no competitors? Why? Anyway thats really something huh..try not to focus on page rank, focus on how to optimize your site for your visitors first. Garner organic traffic.
I thought I had already indicated the road to take, however; as I said, you need to explore your competitors weakness, replicate whatever you can from what your competitors are doing (even by simply monitoring their backlinks and trying to get links from the same resources, check the amount of links they have for the specific keyword etc..). In my case it wasn't quiet difficult, out of 10 competitors only 5 had a "decent" on page optimization, by simply tweaking my layout and optimizing it and gaining only few links (1/5 of what they had) I was already on their tail. Just few steps On page optimization of competitors - Check title tag (keyword prominence, keyword density and possible combinations), check meta description (keyword prominence, keyword density and combination of keywords), check heading tags (and possible combinations with alternative keywords) Inbound links - monitor each competitors backlinking profile, see if you can get links from the same sources, see which keywords competitor uses on those links More inbound links - can you get links of better quality the what your competitors have? Can you get more anchor targeted links then what your competitor has? If you can't then are you able to "create" such links? Monitoring your competitor will tell you exactly why they are ranking and how you can outrank them (if you do really understand seo and value of each and every backlink). I know many do read these type of suggestions, but they never really make an in depth analyze over it and try to really understand what is behind those numbers, the day you will start to pay more attention to on page optimization and try to understand the value of the backlinks you will find your website climbing quiet fast in the serps. A tool that can help you quickly make similar analysis that I can recommend is MarketSamurai, specifically the SEO Competition module (no perfect numbers, but really close to reality). There are other tools that can facilitate the research of backlinks and its value.
With article submission in top rank article directories this is not spam. this is not hundred, its you can say 300 with 3 articles in 100 hundred directories
Thanks for this brief reply. I got my all necessary information, now just starting the work, lets see how much time it takes.
If your competitors have been around for years and have thousands of backlinks, and you only have a two year old domain, it is going to take sometime getting anyway near them
