I built a blog directory, and strive for quality not quantity. I also don't run any ads on there. I noticed today I had a PR5, (might be a toolbar glitch) At what point do you start charging for links? The site is at bloglisting.net
I have no experience in this area, but I would imagine if you are being swamped with requests for listings, then you can start charging for speedier approval. For instance, $25 for 24 to 48 hour approval. More for rapid approval and premium positioning. I do not remember the site, but there was one which showed they had a wait cue of over a thousand sites seeking free approval. They charge for rapid approval and the cue drives home the point you may need to wait a very long time to make it into the directory. Waiting is not an issue for people without asbudegt. But, when someone is in marketing mode, they will pay a reasonable amount for a directory with high page rank. In making the transition, I would make sure your directoiry is listed at places which make people know about the page rank of target directories. People will then focus in on you.
Not to sound like a complete moron, but what site do you use to check out the PR rating? I am trying to learn as I do, just seems like there is an awful lot of content out there. Sorry to ask such a trivial little question ________________ Carpe Diem! Make today a great one.... ----Tabitha J Naylor----
Thanks guys....... I use FireFox for the most part. Perhaps that was part of my problem. I thought I must've done something wrong.
