The time I spend on one article fully depends on the topic and the quality of the copy required. It usually takes me about 1,5 hours.

If the topic is something I am familiar with, then it takes around half an hour for a quality stuff and some topics which requires extensive research takes me an hour or so for a 300 word article.

If research is involved I find it hard to write a 300 to 500 word article in less than an hour to an hour and a half. I tend to check and recheck spelling and the feel of the article. Then I do a final "once over" to compare it with what the purchaser requested.

Well, I'm coming back to this thread because some real world issues have shown me a few things.

For instance, if someone only wants a few articles, I can still write them fairly fast, with lots of detail. However, if someone wants a bunch of articles, say 10 or 20, and I know nothing about them, and I'm tasked with coming up with what to write about other than the main topic,... well, that's proving to be way more difficult than I had imagined. I've found that, with research time and thinking about what to write, it can easily take a day to write 10 articles, or two days to write 20.

Once I start writing, the articles can pretty much write themselves, but coming up with the ideas, then fleshing out the proper information,... wow!

It depends on the topic and your mood. On an average, an hour and a half for a 300-word article

Adding one more thing; if the person requesting the articles is more specific on what they want, sometimes it can go easier and quicker. Yesterday I wrote 36 articles in about 9 hours, each one at least 250 words. I know that's probably not the norm, but it was flowing fairly well, and didn't need tons of research to get done.

I can knock a 300 word article out in about 7 minutes, 10 minutes tops. Most of the information out there is already available. I usually just write content in my own words with a little added value or opinion. Its much faster that way and saves alot of time.

Quality takes time and research. A 300-500 word quality article should take 45 minutes with a little research.

However, I think most native English speakers can put out a bull-shit 300-500 word article in 20 minutes, easy.

300 word article will take me anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour...depending on the level of knowledge I have on the subject. It again depends on several factors, including the typing speed ;)

It does really depend on the type of writing. I don't know if you can even answer that question without knowing the subject. I could write a 300 word article about myself in 5-10 minutes, but writing about Industrial pipe fitting might take 2 hours or more, because I don't know a thing about it!

If you provide quality content and charge by the hour then it shouldn't matter how long it takes. People pay for quality.

I write only about subjects I know really really well and that I have a passion about.

I'll do a 500+ words article in 30/45 mins and it will be very detailed, researched and of quality.

If the research is done before hand and make the topic well known to you, it is as simple as 30 mins to craft what you have grafted. The topics matters a lot. I wrote a recent article on 'Discalced Carmelites in Europe' which took me 45 mins to etch out 500 words

    Regards
