Time magazine names YouTube ‘Invention of the Year’

That's pretty amazing.

 

I don't think it should be called the "invention" of the year. Video sharing was invented way back around 2001/2002.

It would be better to say "success" of the year

 

Yeah success of the year billions of green, green equates to money, money equates to success

 

Yea a complete misuse of the word invention. Youtube is more of a brand instead of an invention. The technology was around for years before youtube.com was even registered.

 

They realy have invented something special that made them the most popular video sharing site in the world

 

dont think its an invention, anyway google does it again snatching up youtube.

 

Yes its really wonderful thing [not sure about 'invention']
They have created lot of new niches and revolutionized concept of video on internet..

 

I'd have to agree on the 'invention' part, it's not something that has been particulary innovative.

 

I think they've been particularly innovative in their 1-giving away the bandwidth 2-allowing for social space customization and deep connection and 3-low barrier to entry.

They may still have far to go (copyright issues, RSS implementation, independant producer revenue share, etc), but I think they've been quite innovative.

 

and i first went to youtube site last month for the first time HUH backwords really
