Time Frame for Adsense Approval?

    I've had a google account for ages, but I never got around to using adsense. So I thought I'd give it a try but all I get is a message saying that my account is not active and is under review. According to google there is a high volume of request and that it could take several days. Any ideas on how long it will take to get approved. Never delt with this part of google before so any info would be helpful.

    Basically adsense will reply on your application within 1 week time

    I got my account approved after 4 days.. that was last 2003.. I have no idea with the current time frame..
