HI, I think now we have to spend more time on finding the more optimized way to get more clicks. I don't think the older way of blend with contents and get clicks will not work any more. I got 75% drop in my revenue after google reduced the clickable area in the adblock. If anyone have good ideas please share with us. What i did first is i have changed all my title and urls are Blue color and remaining text black.
There's a difference between revenue and CTR. Is your revenue down due to a decrease in CTR? If yes, test out what you are doing for at least a day. If not, you might need to work with different techniques to get your ads to get more noticed. If CTR is the same but revenue is down, that's a different thing.
I think they mean clicks are down so revenue is also. The links have to be clicked now and alot of sites had ads so close to images people clicked on them
My CTR and eCPM both down. Now my next step would be to increase the CTR and get some more clicks. I have started changing the placement of ads and colors. Till now nothing is working in my way. I don't know why CPC is going down. Per click its charging very low. That means users are not clicking the costly ads.
your web surfers don't know how much the advertiser paid for the ad, so they can't be avoiding ads based on the cost. the only answer is that the ads you have been getting for the last couple of days are not worth as much as they might have been before, and that will always vary over time.
exactly what i was thinking. if your ads were close to navigational items, underneath drop down menus, etc., your ctr will drop. but the epc might go up, because your traffic is converting better for the advertisers, since the clicks are from people who are genuinely interested in the product the advertiser is selling.
I am not understanding you. Do you mean after some days the things will be in normal. If the clicks are suddenly reducing means the previous clicks are coming from accidental. Thats realy shocking for me. So there is a mistake in ads placement. once again i have to test and place the ads properly.
You're saying that you are experimenting. Correct? This change took effect TWO days ago. That's not long enough to do any real tests, IMO. Usually if you want to see if a change in Ad Placement/Color Scheme works, give it at least a day or two.... so I'm not sure what you've been doing.
ya..you are correct. I have update few ads yday. I am waiting to see the results. since its week edn i am not getting more visitors. My site will get more visitors only on business days. So, i have to wait for two more days to see the proper results. also mean time i want to keep discussing with other dp members to get new techniques. Thanks for your reply.
Im testing solid black back ground ads on 1 site adding text link ads white wityh black background on a grey page Long as they kinda stand out, but you know the text link ads will do good still.. ive been adding more txt link ads and removing some banners..
I had a huge drop in ctr and revenue the day that the changes were implemented. Here is what I did: I changed the colors of the ads so that the title and url are the same color, and changed the text to a much more subtle color. My ctr and revenue recovered nicely yesterday. Simple but effective!
