Here's one of my websites: http://www.saveload.net/ Primarily looking for advice on ad placement and layout but any other suggestions will certainly be entertained.
Just looks like a basic blog to me. Load time is very slow, put fewer posts and less ads on main page. Consider getting a better header for your page, something more fitting to the theme of the page. The large ad at the top of the page has too much space around it and is WAY to big for the top of any page. Also, you could try making the ads look more like they are part of your page, or even relevant to the content.
Yeah it's just a plain blog. I happen to like really simple themes but I guess that doesn't always work for the viewers. I kind of thought the ad at the top was a bit too big so I'll probably remove that. I'll also try to make the ads blend in a bit better. I hadn't noticed the load time was really slow but I'll look into that for sure. I can probably remove some of the small links on the main page that have some javascript which probably slows down load time. Thanks, the advice is appreciated.
Thanks I think I may have helped it out because I changed around some of the ads and removed some useless javascript code that was bogging things down so that may have helped. Cheers!
Well I plan on at least having a header image done up. That I think would be a good start. Then if that doesn't work maybe I'll change the whole template. Thanks
One thing.. don't have that big ad that takes over the screen. I come to blogs for content, not to be bombarded by ads. You can make your money via the adsense or by selling advertising space on the side as long as it is relevant to Xbox and game type stuff. Not my thing, but the purple heart thing. I don't think that flows with the whole gaming thing but other than that if you have good content then I don't mind the basic look.
You're putting toooooooo much video embed in the main page. which is result to very lag loading. improve that.
Kind of slow to load. I would suggest putting your youtube videos in one of these http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/ajaxtabscontent/index.htm They load frome external html pages. You can also just make clickable thumbnail pics of the videos and link to the actual video in the div. And youtube is integrated with adsense now, so you can have a youtube player with ads running on it on your page. http://www.youtube.com/my_adsense_players
I like it. Looks good. Lots of videos may slow it down a bit, but otherwise it looks good. Don't know if you can have less videos on the main page and just have teh categories.
