TI-89.org - 16,000 Uniques per Month

I acquired this site last year at a decent price of $400. It had last been updated in 2002 and I made several huge layout changes as well as added some content and upgraded the scripting. The code is written in PHP, is all SEO, including the PHPBB forums, and receives a HUGE amount (90%+) of it's traffic from Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Search. I will post some google analytics information later tonight, but I'm very curious to see if anyone would be interested in purchasing the site.

I'm not 100% I want to sell at the moment, but the right price could easily persuade me. Since it is one of the best known TI-89 calculator sites with a huge history and a steady traffic rate for 5+ years, I'm expecting to make around $800. Please, even if you're not interested in purchasing, quote me a price as to what you think is decent.

If I get some interest, I'll probably do an auction and start the bid at a price around where people quote the site.

If you didn't know, the TI-89 is the latest and greatest graphing calculator available. Students in high school and college as well as intelligent people even older are all target visitors for the site. The site already has some GREAT content, which you can see in search results anywhere.

Here's a few things you may want to take a look at...

Archive - History of the site:
    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.ti-89.org
Google Analytics Overview for March 2007: http://picimg.com/uploads/381b4a1be2d70cf5c5c7cd7e931118b1.jpg
    Google Analytics Marketing Overview:

I haven't really put any work into getting some advertisers to generate some profit because I haven't had the time for the site (hence me considering selling it). There's no doubt in my mind that someone who has a little bit of time to get some marketing going, you can turn a regular profit.

As I said, I've made the entire site very search engine optimized, and it shows. I do no marketing for the site whatsoever, and it still receives 500+ uniques a day from search engines.

It's worth noting that ti-89 is searched more often than ti89. This is likely because the actual name of the calculator is hyphenated.

    Some common search terms:

    ti-89 games
    Google (Rank 1)
    MSN (Rank 1)
    Yahoo (Rank 1)

    ti-89 programs
    Google (Rank 2)
    MSN (Rank 1)
    Yahoo (Rank 2)

    89
    Google (Rank 9)
    MSN (Rank 3)

    ti-89
    Google (Rank 3)
    MSN (Rank 3)
    Yahoo (Rank 7)

I've had a few people interested, but no "offers" yet.

If you have ANY other questions at all, contact me please.

I did post traffic and referral stats. They're about in the middle of the post.

I'm not quite ready to start an auction at the moment...waiting on a reply from a serious buyer at namepros.com.

I'll likely start the auction at $600 with a buy it now (BIN) of $1200.

great site. I remember I saw the old owner having a announcement on the main page a couple years back wanting to sell it for $100. it was highly underpriced. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the comments. I have an offer at $1200 for the BIN I was planning. I'd love to see if anyone would pay more, but I don't want to scare that bid away and I don't want to get too greedy. :)

I've decided to honor the $1200 offer. TI-89.org is sold.
