Throwing In The Towel With Paypal

I give up. They have got to be THE WORST payment processor on the face of this planet.

I opened my paypal account one month ago. I have now done over 300 sales. My average daily income is about 200-400 a day with them. Out of those 300 sales I have had 11 refund requests ( I sell a digital download ). Rather than contacting me directly the buyers just disputed it on paypal.

Well the past week has been a constant battle with paypal. They keep locking my account constantly asking me for new forms of ID to verify my already very verified account.

Tonight was the last straw. This is the third time in a week they have locked my account. Last specialist I spoke to said it was basically because my account is new and I am doing a high volume of sales... WELL YEAH! I'm using google adwords and driving an enourmous amount of traffic to my site, and it converts really really well.

But I give up. They reversed 600 bucks in bank transfers, and I guess I won't be seeing that money anytime soon. I don't want to provide them with any more personal information. I mean seriously I've already given them 2 credit cards, my checking account and savings account numbers, my social, my phone number. What the hell else could they possibly need.....

As of now, I am dead in the water. Anyone have any recommendations for a REAL credit card processor? Paypal sucks.

i know the pain of using paypal these days as paypal now making it really hard for normal users thinking that everyone is fraud.... paypal is no longer good pick anymore as it give pain in the ass to sellers only.... but the real frauds still scamming thousands of dollars using several paypal accounts and transfering there money.... and yet paypal dont do anything to them.... last two years i suffer the most for using paypal and lost lots of money on chargeback scammers.... so now i use different tricks to stop frauds sending me payments.... this drop my sale a bit but still i am earning good money and never got limited this year and never got a single fraud payment and chargeback... what i do is i match the geo location of the buyer like godaddy.... and if the geo location of the buyer's IP do not match the address on paypal or credit card, i reject the payment... this is a painful process that take lots of time but it save the money and problems.... if you are too busy then you can hire your brothers/sisters or any one from your family to check for fraudulant payments... there are few more things you need to check also.... so if you follow my rules then i can assure you, the number of reversal will be drop.... but this will not stop paypal from limiting your account... as paypal do this to new users more often.... so i have a better suggestion for you... you can still get all the paypal buyers without having to use paypal... join Plimus.com or 2checkout.com where you can sell your digital products and you can accept paypal payment to plimus's paypal account not yours.... and at the end of the month, you get paid in your paypal from plimus... and paypal will not limit your account if you get payment from plimus since they know that plimus pay thousands of dollars as affilated payments which is allowed by paypal.... so you can chose any one from both my suggestions.... either way this will solve your problems and you will not lose your paypal buyers nor you will drop your sale or get your paypal account limited.....

Sounds like you have the volumes and amounts where you should be using a true credit card merchant account of your own. You'll still get a number of chargebacks, but at least you are more in control with your own merchant account. There are lots of good offers out there on the internet, or you could try your own bank (who already know you).

I know how you feel man, I've had to prove my identity multiple times for the smallest things.
I'd recommend Google Checkout, heard good things generally.

Its not their fault, because hackers are hacking paypal accounts and shopping that money from the stolen accounts, then when the real owner sees this, he complains to paypal that his money lost. so they will unauthorized transactions. I like paypal service.

Paypal is doing very fine, although he limited most of my accounts, I still trust them.
All you have to do is be cautious, don't be too confident on the money you are receiving.
Be cautious, and cooperate with paypal, I suggest you send them e-mails or messages regarding payments.

I've used paypal for years, and I've found them pretty fair. that said, the account locking that they do is a pain. We now use authorize.net and they've been great. Their customer service seems to have inproved lately too.

Well for the past 3 days I have been using Google Checkout instead. I like the API and the ability to customize everything.

But, I've noticed, while I have recieved no chargebacks now, my conversions have also dropped almost in 1/2.

So it kind of sucks. I get 3 chargebacks on paypal out of every 100 sales (which the specialist told me that is too high, needs to be under 2%.... doesnt he know that the average return rate in retail is about 5?) So looks like im a creek without a pattle and I have to settle for making about 1/2 of what I used to.

This is the problem in a nutshell, and reflects advancedfuture's experience in moving to Google Checkout. Unless you have the volumes and amounts to justify a merchant account, nothing has the same take-up/acceptability in buyer's minds as Paypal.
