Some hot topics usually have so many pages and some times i just want to see the latest part. The problem is if I do that then I probably don't know what the thread starter's first post was. What i thought is no matter which viewing option i choose what the thread starter's is always on the top!
I think it's pretty easy as it is. When you click on the thread it automatically goes to the first page and if you want to read the last post you just scroll down and click on "Last".
I think she means like from the main index into an older thread. Clicking into it that way often sends you to like page 8 which generally is FAR off topic by that time. But yes, you are correct in that the first post and the last read posts are only just a click away. I often find myself clicking over to the first page so I know just what's going on... I do believe there is a post sticky addon (sticks the original post to the top of each page in the thread) to vBulletin, though I do not think the powers that be will install it here on Digital Point. Certainly not a bad idea, though once you've read the first post, the addon is kind of annoying, as you need to scroll passed 10 times on long conversations.
I remember this feature being on an IPB forum I frequented. There was a hidden password in the very first post in the thread (and it only appeared after you made a reply), so seeing the original post on page 99, always came in handy. Here on DP if you fail to browse through the replies you will miss out on a lot.
I think she means that when shes viewing posts in order from newest to oldest the thread op's should be the first one so she can understand how everything started. Only on the first page though, not on page 2 or 4 or whatever.
