Shawn..................nationality My best friend over here has a stock answer every item anyone asks what nationality she is. "My mother is Swedish, my father is French, I was born in Japan but left at the age of 6 weeks, since when I have lived in 8 different countries, but never in Sweden , France or Japan. Take your choice." Most people then reply, "Yes, but what nationality are you ?"
Say what, "the US sucks", Shawn, please stay in Germany Now we know why you like imported beer, German and Irish Blood! Yes, for sure you are German and Irish. Not a bad mix, Germans are smart folks, they just had a bad leader or two at one time or another and followed him out of fear and blindness. Sounds like the US alot to me...
Guinness is gooood stuff, along with caffreys.. can't beat a good pint (or ten) I've had newcy brown, stodgy stuff, one pint and I'm sh*tting all day and don't eat for 4 days. SEBasic have you had black sheep?
No... Is it any good... Drink a bit of the Marlow Brewery stuff - It's where I am living at the moment. Nice beer, shame it isn't a little stronger.
It figures that a thread on the British would turn to wine bibbing, no doubt that is how the empire was lost. US has some great beers, Samuel Adams Boston Lager is one of the best beers in the world, we also have many micro brewers that have won awards in worldwide competition. I have had my time with many imported dark beers, they are hard to digest as you age. So I have went back to the piss water, cheap stuff is good for this old man, never thought I would be drinking Miller High Life again in the cans. But I have 55 gallon drums filled with glass and can not manage the empties, so I went back to cans, they pay me for those. I also got tired of walking on broken glass, so I try not to buy glass anymore. Beer and booze management can ruin you in more ways than one.
Well WW, that's what the Brits think of themselves. But then yuo explain to me the instant pissed-ness as soon as they drink a 5%+ European beer... Not so tough after all?
Hehe - I wouldn't say that's true of everyone - If all else fails, It's Hoegaarden for me Not that I;m a heavyweight or anything, I just love that stuff
Born in Friesland. Where the Frisian cows originate from. It's a province in the north of Holland a.k.a. The Netherlands, often mistaken by the Americans for Amsterdam (our capital) and mistaken by many Brits for Denmark. Not sure how that happened. Yuo might also know our little 16m people country from the war tribunals in The Hague, from mayonaise on french fries from Pulp Fiction and of course, windmills, tulips, wooden shoes, legal drugs and legal prostitutes (they even have their own trade union and pay Tax over their income). Moved to the UK on sept 11 2001 (no live telly on the boat so only found out about the stuff on the day after, probably the last one on earth). Why I moved? Wanted to get fluent in English. Wanted to swap my 40 people town for a BIG city. Was craving for adventure. Did a BSc in Geographical Information Systems and Business Management in South West London but didn't finish it due to internet entrepeneurial temptations. Now you know.
Germany isn't my final destination. I'll be there for about 40 minutes for a connecting flight. I haven't even made it out of the US yet. Although I am on the left coast now (Pittsburgh). I like this airport because they have free high speed wireless.
Have a safe trip (lets hope for that), get back soon, there are bigger nuts than me on this forum. I can not handle this wild young bunch, I may quit by the time you get back
