Hi all, I keep hearing about people in DP getting thousands of unique visitors to a website that's only 1 month or so old. How do they do that???? My site is already 5 weeks old or so but the traffic is almost non-existent! Dinar.
Hi, it depends on how many people they may have in their email lits or whether they are using paid adds. This is not ususal though for a person with a new site, if you have done your homework, used seo you will get traffic but it defintately takes time and hard work, dave
My GTA IV site is about a month old and I've been getting 1,000+ unique visitors a day since I got indexed by google. It all depends on your content, keywords, seo, demand for info that's on your site etc.
It's rare though to get so may visitors for a site that is only one month old... I guess it's all about finding the right subject matter...
I think computer tutorial/tip sites pull in thousands of visitors, as I'm signed up to such a blog (has about 21,000 subscribers). It posts out about 5 short, but useful posts per day. Not sure if it had 1000 visitors within it's 1st month though...
Most are hype and trying to link bait or sell you something immediately or once the thread is busy. A) they could be wanting to sell site. B) baiting for pms to/for their secrets. C) trying to inflate their thread post count for another reason. D) buying traffic, inflating stats to sell site - based on hype. Not all are dodgy, some are just lucky, or know their stuff, others may buy traffic. SEO, Social networking and the like are arts and can be used effectively.
"Keep hearing"??? You are? ... Where? It can easily be done, but I haven't read anywhere from the posters here who claim to have done that. If you have, all you have to do is a simple background check and ask a few questions to see if they are full of shit or not.
My Site Was started on Sunday so is now 5 Days old and I am getting 200 UV's Per day I am very happy with this suces as I didnt expect it to go this well. The traffic is mainly from sites linking to me though not a lot of organic traffic yet. Do your homework. Spend every single day social bookmarking, getting some comments / articles on blogs, article writing, and a whole bunch more I don't have the time to explain about. Most importantly pick a topic that would appeal to a very large demographic. Promote, Promote, Promote. I've taken many sites to 50k or more UV the first month.
Contents is the king, your site must attract users and keep them coming and returning, and do some promotion yourself aswell, blog, articles, forums, social sites etc..
Are you doing any promotion of the site? Try and promote your site where you think your target audience is.
Does your website have a blog? A blog is a great way to market any website. It is a must for the new website.
I started two weeks ago and am getting 10-20 UNV/day - I used stumble the first day and got a traffic boost of 200 but after that nothing. Since it's not a blog site and only for classified ads i have to promote via forums and comments and hope to bring my SERP's up from page4 to page1
the flat out bottem line s it comes down to you having something people want to see, period. if someone had an exclsuve site with "britanty spears sex tape" and released 2 1 minute clips twice a day for 30 days (60 minutes total throughotu the month), they could easily get WELL over 10 million unique visitors in the first month... now i know thats a very extreme circumstances that does not actually exist, but its just an example of how unique content thats in high demand, there are no limits or a set "time frame".... VIRAL!!!
