Thoughts on this domain?

I really have no idea if it is worth anything or not. A friend of mine told me I should be able to get $500 or so for it.

Thoughts? Be honest, because I am trying to decide whether to develop it or dump it.

    Thanks in advance.

The domain name alone, with no website - about $30. Develop it and market it heavy. Make use of Google adsense or other ad revenue programs. (preferably adsense, as it pays high rates on the ads that will be relevant to your site). The value will then increase more.

    Thank you for your response.

Do you think the market is too saturated for another credit card site? I am tempted to just sale it.

Yes, there are more sites than needed. Remember that you want to sell your website, and I suppose you want more than $30 for it.

If so, you will need to invest some time and money into the website. Consider populating the website with many free credit card related articles, banking contact details, etc. Join some ad revenue services, such as Google adsense, not that you will ever make a living off the income, but it will add value to the site. Think creatively and attempt to start a membership forum, or community, etc.

Again join advertising services such as Google adwords and start advertising your site. This will bring in quite a bit of traffic. Also work hard at submitting your site to search engines and directories, keep maintaining it and ensure high rankings.

Once you have developed a good informative site, which earns income and a good flow of visitors, even better returning visitors, you can start looking at selling the domain.

This is a lot of work, time and money, but will pay off at the end. No matter how many other sites there is. You are not trying to make money off ads on it, you are trying to sell a website at the bottom line, one that will only sell if it has any value to buyers.
