Hi guys, One of the developers at work has been going on about Silverlight for quite some time. This morning I told him he could publish a post about it on our blog (he is that much of an admirer of Silverlight ) That's only some of the post. I didn't want to copy all of it because it is quite long. The rest of the article can be read here. I have never used Silverlight myself but I imagine that Adobe are fairly clued into the Web App side of things. Can MS break into Web App development with Silverlight?
I would love to see it take off, its a very rich enviroment and alot can be done with it... but it doesn't only depend on distribution of Silverlight to the consumer, its also the task of Microsoft to make it popular and attractive to the developer, I'm expecting a fight between Adobe and Microsoft on this, battling it out on who's going to get the developer on board. Adobe has the difficult job of making the development process more easier and there for more attractive to the developer. As Microsoft will be trying to convince the linux, php community of Silverlights merrits, which in return will create more of ASP webs possible as well.
Ah well, found some myself, if anyone is interested check this link for silverlight examples: http://silverlight.net/Showcase/
