Thoughts on ReviewMe's New Advertiser Marketplace

This topic kind of overlaps a few areas (marketing, link building, blogging, etc.), but I'm assuming this is where most people buying pay-per-post style services are. :)

Today ReviewMe announced the launch of their new advertiser marketplace.

Basically, instead of handpicking bloggers, advertisers can now choose to post review requests more similarly to pay-per-post, and at a lower starting rate of $10.

What do you think of the move? Do you think it hurts the competitive advantage and alleged higher quality attributed to ReviewMe? As advertisers, does the lower starting rate make them more attractive for your link-building efforts through paid reviews? Or is it less attractive to you? Would you still hand-pick your bloggers for reviews to ensure a certain link quality, or are you open to the newer options?

I only recently signed up with ReviewMe as a publisher to check it out, and report back on a blog or two I run that aren't attached to that account. I just accepted my first two reviews today, so I'm still not really familiar with the system, and I'm just curious to find out how advertisers see the change. :)

As a publisher, I'll be interested in seeing how it stacks up against PPP, what controls they have for advertisers to regulate blog quality

Yeah, I was curious about that too. It looks like ReviewMe has to accept publishers individually into that program (although if they accepted you into the original one, I guess there's not much reason for them not to). It looked as though they only show publishers review requests directly related to the categories they chose. I didn't see any other kinds of requirements worked in such as PR at this point... but maybe they do it behind the scenes when they decide what's relevant to show you... no idea yet. They sent out the email this morning about it, but there's not terribly much info on the site. We'll have to wait and see if an advertiser using the new service posts about it. :)

I think it's a good deal. It's a lot like SponsoredReviews now too...
I like it as a publisher because now I know that many advertisers will be exposed to my blog and offer.
