I've got a new product that I'm about ready to launch in a week or two. I'm pretty excited as this product is unique within the niche, high value, and has tested extremely well. My question relates to raising the price. My test price is $99. But I think it could sell for more judging by some comparisons on the market. It might go for as much as $200 or $300. I've tested these price points, too, and have had sales. I think I will introduce the product at $99, but could very well raise the price. Obviously I want to find the intersection between price and most units sold, which is where I will make the most profit. I would keep the affiliate commission constant, whether I raise the price or not. If there's one thing I've learned over the last few months, good affiliates earn their money and are very good at what they do. Have you seen publishers raise prices after the launch of a product? Have you seen it done effectively? Or does it kill sales? Do you affiliates have an opinion on the matter of raising prices of a product after its launch?
Personally, not a good idea. Some people could have built campaigns and budgets based on what the selling price is. I would test selling the product at the higher price first to see if it converts just as well.
Thanks for the input. I've thought about the building of campaigns and budgets around the list price. I've tested multiple prices and have good sample sizes. I'd just like the option to raise the price if it were possible...
I actually know a publisher on this forum , he raised the price of one of his products and i still manage to make sales from it . I believe if the product is really a good one(good quality) , people would pay the right price for it . You also have to give affiliates a nice commission though . 50% - 50 % or 75 % for affiliates . Launch this product with a contest and i guarantee you , you will make some money . It's all about the quality mate . Good luck
