Hmmm....design needs a major overhaul, especially the nav bar. Sorry, but really doesn't look professional.

OK - so now I know what I need to work on. Could somebody please give me some help/thoughts on what exactly needs to be done?

Yes, unfortunately I had to use a redirect because of the way my host is set up. It's annoying, I know, but there's no way around it. :-(

Looks useful - but specific to Photoshop. I've only got PSP5 and GIMP 1.2/2.0
Any reccomendations for learning graphics design with these programs?

Photoshop has too many features and I find it difficult to learn and use especially when I'm in a hurry. Try using Paint Shop Pro which you can download a trial version at www.jasc.com.

Make your sidebar navigaton slimmer and crisp - make it more professional looking that way.

I've already got Paint Shop Pro but it's an old version (v5). I've also got the most recent version of The GIMP.

I think the page redirection is going to cause you big issues with the search engines, my first step would be to read around the forum, pick up some tips on designing for Search engines (esp. Google) because once its built, you are going to want visitors...

GIMP is supposed to be very good, although I haven't used it myself.

To be honest with you, you really don't have to have a really amazing design site.
It needs to be substantially better than that (IMO), but it would be easy to knock something up in an hour or so...

Just remember, that white is good because it doesn't make the page look too clunky.

you can also build almost the entire site with just html + css, there def is no need for a graphical menu of any kind (especially not flash as the links wont get properly spidered) - text links look good, spider well, can change colour without JS and are easier to change ;)

I made it in PS based on your design.. I can give you the editable version so you can just do some sort of inner glow effect and resave them to make the mouseovers. Let me know what you think

(You won't be able to access it directly from that link because my webserver won't serve images nonlocally to avoid people using my bandwidth on some of the free images I've started to create for general use) To access the image, just type it directly into your web browsers address line

    Hi -

I'm new to this forum and I'm glad to see an area for website reviews. I've just finished a major redesign of my year old website - www.bettercredits.com. This is my first venture in building and maintaining a website. I would appreciate any thoughts you have on the design.

I'm also very interested in hearing any suggestions as to how I can actually get traffic going to this site.

    Thanks All!
