Thoughts on lifetime paid submissions

Recently someone suggested that, as an alternative to charging per year for our Premium subscription, I consider allowing lifetime submissions for a higher fee.

This sounds like a reasonable idea, but I am wondering whether many people would take it up.

Also, I'd be interested to hear what sort of fee would be agreeable. I am currently thinking $65...

(Of course I should note that Tsection will still remain free for those who wish not to pay)....

You'd need to define exactly what 'lifetime' meant.
lifetime you own the site ?
    lifetime of the site ?
    your lifetime ?
    my lifetime ?
    what ??

At the end of the day, the fee that would be acceptable depends on a few things. How popular is the directory ? can/will it pass traffic ? will it only pass PR (if so what is the PR) ?

Good point. Lifetime of the site. Obviously if enough people signed up you would have to keep the site going for a minimum number of years... maybe 7 at a minimum.

For comparison, www.seekon.info does "one time" fee additions for $29, which is extreamly reasonable....

In our TOS "one time" isn't expressly defined, but it is noted that we reserve the right to remove any links we feel neccessary at any time for any reason.... (which we will probably never do unless the link is dead)
