Thought I'd announce a new text-based MORPG

Hi,

I've finished my game/site and put it into Beta. I'm looking for Beta testers. The Beta phase is expected to last a week, and I'd appreciate it if as many of you would sign up and give it a go.

I just noticed you've pumped shed loads of money into research, lol that's going to hurt in one minute. You see, the netscore is updated every hour and that's when you gain more turns and money. But! Research is a cost that's taken into account every hour. I think I'll add an option to draw money out of research to stop people going bankrupt within the first hour lol

 

Who cares about bankruptcy when you end up ruling the world? muahahahahaahahahahahhaha

Seriously - I saw the loophole and exploited it. I noticed though that I never seem to be able to finish off anyone's last unit - is that a bug?

 

No that's not a bug, it's there to give each person some form of defence - Let us have our dignity ruler

Also, you should not be able to steal someone's last acre of land - evidently that failed, and you managed to make one user have -4 acres lol I've fixed that bug (hopefully) now anyway.

P.S. I've reset your research back to £0 so you're out of killer debt lol

Hehe thanks. It may be a bit wobbly in places though, and if you find any bugs etc, feel free to post back here or where-ever. More errors we fix the quicker it can be OK'd for full release.

OK I've fixed the email problem - it seems that PHP's default Mail() function isn't up to the job. Replaced it with a more advanced email function.

 

Wow it looks like Civ-Online is really making a good impression! We were announced on GameSpy!
