I stole that from a song, but it rings true to me. How about you?

Recently I saw a seven minute clip where a guy goes to a college republican convention and asks these dudes that are all gung ho for the war in Iraq why they don't enlist and none of them can come up with a good reason. I wish I had the link but it's now only in my memory

That's very true WebDev, this is from a superb comedy set in World War One called Blackadder Goes Forth (Click HERE for a classic clip), this is from when General Melchett visits the men in the trenches to ask them about the "Big Push" which is when they climb out of the trenches and charge accross no-man's land towards the enemy.

It was of course completely pointless as they all get wasted.

Those that call the shots are usually well out of harms way, say something major happened in the USA you can rest assured that people like Bush and Cheney would be well protected while the public would be left to fend for themselves as usual.

From what I've read, The US Marine Corps is different.

    These guys make me laugh.

IF YOU ASK ANY GREAT GENERAL, THEY WILL TELL YOU, THESE GUYS ARE THE PRIME CANDIDATE FOR THE CUSHION (initial contact with the enemy)

ANY GREAT GENERAL WILL KEEP THE HEALTHY,BATTLE HARDENED AND BRAVE TO DELIVER coup de grace.

if you ask pack of hyenas in Sahara, Africa, they would tell, "Sure they may have unusual health problems, but they sure look like plum juicy pigs."

    Thanks for posting that link...

Jeez, that really gets under my skin when people talk about the conflict like they've been there, then say they have better things to do then enlist...

How about we go back to the old vietnam bumper stick saying "If you weren't there, shut the H*** up!"...

"I had other priorities in the '60s than military service."

    King of the Chickenhawks

You almost have to give this one respect for being so brazen. He didn't go the 'Nam and pretend to fight, he surely didn't go to Vietnam and really fight, he didn't even join the National Guard.

I was told President Bush has a large facility underground in case of nuclear attack that has everything he would need, including a full-time staff. So, he won't be in the line of fire.:)

It's amazing that someone that admitted to dui in '76 and never completely fulfilled his military contract, beat out kerry (who earned a silver star, do American's even know what a silver star is? It's not just handed out!)

Cowards are cowards even if democrats.

They don't even want the country to go to war to protect their nation.

So probably they are even more cowards.

The president has to survive, whether it's Bush or someone else.

BTW, what do you think about England's Prince Harry that really wanted to go?
