As far as I know it's impossible to make money with Adsense if you do not have a web site....However...you can with Adwords. There a number of strategies, the main one of which is to promote affiliate programs. If you send people direct from your Adwords ad to the merchant site you do not need your own web site.
    Hope this is useful.

Hmm how is that? So do you mean if I get an affiliate program from a hosting company I can set up a adwords for the item? Something like that?

    That's right.
If you join an affiliate program you promote your affiliate link using adwords.

Your affiliate link is not shown in the ad, you display the merchants url, so the prospect believes they are going directly to the site. Most people do not like to knowingly click an affiliate link for some reason...after it doesn't cost them any extra.

Perhaps they mean applying through a blogger and then using your code on other sites.

Will we get more revenue from using affiliate program than using adsense?

It depends on site niche, but I prefer to use combination of both. :)

No simple answer to this question.

I was using affiliate programs before Adsense came along. When Adsense came along I began adding it to the pages that already had affiliate links, but was concerned that Adsense was taking away affiliate revenue.

So I've continued to experiment with affiliate-only, Adsense-only, and mixed -- but have not come to any real conclusions. I tend to favor Adsense because it's easier and more of a sure thing. Affiliate programs are more work and payout is higher, but fewer transactions. Just today, I switched a couple of pages from Adsense only to mixed to try to improve revenue.

One annoying fact about Adsense is that when a user clicks on the ad, he has exited your site, maybe to never return to see affiliate ads or anything else. However, with most affiliate links, you can set target=_blank on the anchor tags so that the user still has a window open on your site. You've got another shot at him and his business.

Stackman, any chance you could help people like me who have used AdSense extensively, and are now trying to get into affiliate programs, but with no success? I've read a lot of posts in the digitalpoint affiliate section, but I have made no progress. No one clicks on my affiliate ads :( Any tips for what are the easiest affiliate programs to get some success from, to get me started? My websites cover education, games and hobbies.
