So, I've been honing my SEO skills for a while now and have a couple of clients who are showing surprising progress. One of them turned to me the other day and asked: "I saw a company offering link submissions to thousands of link directories". My immediate impression of these companies is not positive, after all many of them have rather classless advertisements, like "$25 for 1,000 link submissions". How do they actually (or claim to) achieve this?
Dcristo, care to elaborate? Processes of what? It sounds very dubious to me. Sherwin, thanks for the spam.
They run softwares that just automatically submit whatever they want to tousands of directories, wiki websites, dofollow comment sites or whatever it's designed for. This is a very risky think to purchase though because I've seen Google taking down several sites using these blackhat techniques.
Jvfconsulting, I agree wholeheartedly. Wulkanen, you're right. Google take all sorts of measures to compensate for these rather spammy dealings. A recent example is the change in algorithm ignoring link farms and junk directories.
this methods can be effective but many of them use hot link backing to run their programs and they don't do justice to your advertising and the chances of a good turn over. I do promote a site that allows advertising to 2 million memebers as a free member. you should see if thats what you looking for.
Some companies can actually sell 1000 links for just 40$ and so because they are located in Bangladesh, Pakistan or in India. These companies ask for a very low price so maximum number of people buy their services. These companies generally have already created an account in a social bookmarking website and they just have to bookmark your website there. These companies also offer very cheap directory submission service too.
My experience is that those services actually have more of a negative than positive impact, at least for the markets we compete in.
I see, but what is the actual quality of the result? I notice a lot go quiet when I ask this question.
