I just watched this video of a lecture by thomas friedman about his book the world is flat.
I know alot of people here may have read the book, but even if you did, and certainly if you didn't, it's a very interesting speach with some really nice stuff in his Q and A session.

I think a big part of what he describes is illustrated on these digital point forums, people from around the globe coming together on these boards sharing knowledge, working for each other, buying and selling and interacting in general.

Around 1:05:00 Friedman also makes a little reference to SEO :)

    Hope you like it

Perhaps you should add that this is not about the theory that the world is flat, literally, since this is also a Religion section. :)

The video was quite good. I felt like I was back at B school. I like the contrast between the positive creativity when Hungary opened the border to East Germany at the same time they opened the border to Austria triggering the fall of the Berlin Wall and the negative creativity coming from a cave that brought down the World Trade Center.

One thing I'd challenge him on is the availability of education. I find public secondary education to range from quite inexpensive to very expensive. With community colleges and university extensions so widely available in the US, I think access to education is not an issue.
