Yeah, pretty much "owned"...literally...Problem is, they seize not only the domain name, but everything involved with it... ie...computers, bank accounts... (your car, if you bought it with fraudulent money).....if you are within the US hosting it, and not hiding in a remote town in Jamaica, then they will give you a couple months in jail, but can give you up to 5 years for certain infractions, and a fine of about $250k...depending on the judge.

Well it's quite ridiculous to use the same domain name after you've just been shut down by the authorities. LOL

The thing with piracy is, they're getting shut down left and right however they're just getting 'shut down' and not stopped. I highly doubt piracy will totally be obliterated up until who knows when. People tend to lean more on getting stuff for 'free' and avoids paying much, that's just the way it is.

Moral of the story, be cautious. Many still have the misconception, that there is this "internet veil" keeping you safe and anonymous, no matter what you do.......that veil is getting thinner and thinner, as those that loose millions on internet/copyright fraud, are investing even more millions to improve security/persecution tactics against internet illegalities.

Its not 1999 anymore, where everyone (including the government) still had the "deer in the headlight" look when approaching internet corruption and how to deal with it.
