A little. I had a bit of trouble tracking them through my logs. Besides, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TRYING THIS. If your account gets banned, you will be pissed off.
Sorry John, Just saw your post... I did not notice any hits from one ip in particular. It didn't look like anything out of the normal in my logs (Hence the trouble tracking it)... But you're right, they are looking for testers I should think. Really, if it worked 100%, then everyone would be doing it and getting bloody rich.
I would never try it myself. I'm curious if this company is an all out "click factory" or if they actually attempt to do what they say by sending traffic to your site. I'm guessing it's a little of both. Traffic can be purchased in bulk very cheaply, especially in the form of popunders or hidden frames. Sending such traffic to a site would mask the hired clickers so CTRs would appear normal. This claim on their site is particularly sketchy: "We have click monitoring scripts that will keep track of the clicks." The only way they could monitor clicks with any precision is if they were generating them themselves.
I guess they could use cookies to see where people go after they sent them to your site... But it's a bit far fetched...
These sort of programs are just a cover for click fraud, they are crap and those that get caught in Adsense traffic generation schemes will be in hot water. Most of these operations work with the outfits in India and use their services to provide fraudulent clicks. Stay away from operators that claim that it is not against Google TOS, they are full of it.
Its obvious by that even if it does work the actual CPC is high and not directly in your control - even if the thing is legit - which I dont believe it to be.
Using javascript, it's not that difficult to track all outgoing clicks. It just requires the code to be added to your pages where you're doing the tracking.
But I didn't add any JS. That's my point. How can they tell how many clicks there have been unless I add the JS.
That's what makes me think that it's a click scheme. Because there is no way to know otherwise. At least none that I'm aware of.
I thought that perhaps they could use cookies to track the clicks. But to be honest, it seems unlikely. No doubt a clicking script of some kind.
Here is the thing, if they are sending relevant, unsolicited traffic to your website to your website that happen to click on your adsense, then great. If this is the service they provide, then I cannot see how it would be wrong BUT, and this is one big MF BUT, if they are paying University kids to click your AdSense ads then there is an issue. I assume that whatever the case is, if they are not 'good' clicks then Google will dismiss the clicks. SEB, any thoughts yet on their 'trial'. I have a feeling that what they are doing is legal, but that by gathering all these email addresses, that they will be making money of those lists.....
Well, I have had 2 emails directly from them and no increase in unsolicited email. The traffic that I recieved didn't look out of place (I couldn't notice anything unusual). I would love to try this again, but on another adsense account. I'd really be pissed if my adsense account was taken down (As would everyone else). I'll give it another go in a while once I have got the right sort of site onliine. (Hosting or something). If I get the cheques through, then It can't be all bad. I think what I'll do is set up a new site and use only this service to obtain clicks. If it works, then I'll stick at it (Easier than doing all the leg work ) I'll keep you informed NC...
Oliver, Thank you for sharing your experience. I only have one adsense account and it makes good money for me every month. I have checked out every page of that site. Couldn't pull the trigger.
It's no problem. Like I say, If you'd like to try it out, open an account in your wife's /mum's /dad's /husband's /girlfriend's/boyfriend's name. By all means give it a go, but don't be surprised if you get booted out of adsense as a result.
Do a search and look at the lawsuits Google has filed against people defrauding their adsense program... Hope your wife/mum/husband/girfriend/boyfriend have a good lawyer...
You know Fryman, good point, you and I agree on something for once, minor miracles do happen Fryman. Have you been being nice to newbies Fryman
Yeah, well be careful, you are being watched Did you get some of the traffic these guys are offering to send to you
Hello all, I'm new to this forum and to Adsense in general. I'm looking to gather all the info I can on the topic, and I found this thread to be quite informative and useful. I have no desire to do anything against the rules. I'm not in this to make a ton of money - more just a hobby while in grad school. Anyway, thanks again for the info. Wendy
