greatdirectories(*)org inner pages are all pr0 now ,and keyword Disappeared in google. Site was be penalized ?
what is the pr before? After penguin update did you change your link building strategy? It is must, some sites are no where to be found after penguin update
you just can't judge like that.. if only inner page going to N/A maybe coz they make some change on URL or something. if they still have Index on google that mean still safe.
The main reason why web directory sites penalized by google is that they lack of unique and valuable content for the most part of website and looking like just link farms. Not all web directories are but most are like this. There is a way to avoid penalized by including content that you're certain provides something unique and keep those pages on your site with great neighborhoods.
This is interesting. A link directory is a list of businesses with written copy that explains what these businesses are all about. They are indexed by category and alpha. What other SEO and content rules do they have to live by? With Directories suspect, Blog, article and e-zine sites next on the hit list, where do you podst online? No-one wants your copy, you have no new ideas to share, no-one wants to link to anyone. So...what's next?
If google would concentrate their efforts on purging dead or outdated links, the search experience and thinning of crap content might fix itself a lot easier. I am floored by how many top 10 results still contain, MFA, landing pages, dead URL's, or Domain Registrar landing pages. It's really pretty pathetic. The interesting thing about directories, we work very hard to make sure that we weed out web sites like this that either go dead, become dormant, or just turn into domain/expired landing pages... Google is FULL of these web sites. These domain/expired websites are specifically designed to show up in SE results by injecting keyword/content on the fly. Google should concentrate their efforts to detecting and removing those web sites. A good start might be asking directories how we do it. We've become pretty proficient at it!!!!
That directory might have been hit with an over-optimization penalty. After looking at several categories, they generally have 3 sentences in the descriptions. The category name appears in the heading and then there's 4+ mentions of the category name in the description. G's results are getting more and more dismal. They at least used to get it right with regards to scraped and stolen content. Now they seem to grant authorship to whichever site is larger and then put the original last or list it under omitted similar results.
Something tells me that if they spent more time employing people to manually view the outcome of search results rather than buying bionics companies and making eyewear they might finally get a handle on the overage of MFA sites. A rather easy way to do this would be the manually review EVERY single web site that uses Adsense. Media.Net does this by manually APPROVING EVERY web site submitted, not just the account holder. Your site does not pass their muster, you cannot place ads on it, period. If you have an Adsense account you can pretty much just start randomly placing ads on ANY pages you have anywhere all day long. That is a big part of the problem. Google needs to police its own group of ad pimps and whores.... A good majority of the crappy results showing up in the top 10 are occupied by these crappy websites that Google summarily approves without question.
