This sucks...they closed my account, for WHAT?????????

This is the message I just got from Google:

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense
account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since
keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage
our advertisers in the future, we've decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the
interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We
realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in
advance for your understanding and cooperation.

My site has been down for alomst a month. I just got it back up today along with some ads. There isn't that much content yet? Can anyone tell me what is it about my site that would warrant them to close this account? A computer friend of mine calls adsense a sham. I'm starting to believe it. I haven't done anything wrong and have abided by the rules and policies. This stinks.

 

what's your website about? I wonder how it posed a significant risk to their advertisers?

Looking at the site with firefox, it seems that boxes, codes, tables etc overlap eachother. Have you tested the lay-out in different browsers? Wide shoot: If there is such a lay-out mess (sorry, but it is in FireFox) then people might be tempted to click where they don't intend to click. Second, google stats that they prefer finished sites, not works in progress for their adsense program. Sorry, but navigation/ lay-out wise this site is an absolute nightmare in firefox. Just my 2 cents, SY

PS/ Off topic I would check the source code, whoever developed the site/ template didn't do a good job for seo...

My site has ALWAYS been a nightmare with Firefox - I dont know why. If you click REFRESH, it straightens itself out. I'd used the same program for about 8 months and they never said ANYthing...I dunno.

Web Easy Pro...and I have asked a million times about Firefox. They come back and say, "Looks fine here!"

 

I looked at the site w/Firefox & it seemed to display fine, FWIW.

 

I still have my Adcents account, but I don't use it. I don't think you will miss it when you find other ways to make money.

 

Some people say it looks fine while others say everything is garbled. I usually see it okay. SOMEtimes it looks weird, but most times it looks okay. Like I said, I get emails from people complaining. If THAT isn't the problem with Google Adsense, I cannot find what the problem IS.

I JUST got my 1st check from them for $140.00, which I thought was fine considering that was for the 1st month of using the service. My site came back online today and BLAM - closed. Its more of the principle of it than anything. They're very vague about why they close accounts and do not offer any specific information. I have read the TOS agreement and don't GET it.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Stop using a program that cheats PUBLISHERS (Adsense) and start using one that cheats ADVERTISERS (Adengage).

I am in the process of moving all of my PPC interests to eBay. I have been running a small test since 4/21/08 and eBay really seems like the next big player in monetizing traffic.

 

there are always other PPC programs.. like Yahoo for instance, Adbrite, Lookery etc. etc.
if Google gave you the dump, then move onto someone else.. there are more fish in the ocean.

How does EBAY monetize traffic? That may be a dumb question, but I never knew you could do that. How?

 

my guess is that they did not like that it's 'under construction'.. after you get some content you might be able to re-apply, but knowing Adsense I wouldnt hold my breath..

Forget about Yahoo publisher network.. For me Kontera works best - AFTER the site is complete and has content, you might give it a try. Kontera earns from 75% - 110% of what Adsense earns for me, on the same site..

 

If that is the case, why wouldn't they just say that? In this day and age of crappy service from companies, I wish SOMEone could do people right - plus - be thourough. I'll try some of your suggestions today. Luckily I don't have that many pages to redo.

In the email they say they get back to you within 48 hours. Its been four days now. I get really tired of companies providing such cruddy customer care. I guarantee if they stood to lose money they'd have typed a friggin email back. What do YOU think? But it's "GOOGLE". They take private planes to use the bathroom, so what do they care? Unreal.
