hi, an official celebrity site got hacked and a virus put on there, i just noticed google.com has found the site to be harmful. when you look up the site on google.com its got under the title: This site may harm your computer. my question is, we are linked to that official site, meaning we are promoting the effect site you could say. will google.com pick up that the link is posted on my site and put the same message up for my site on google.com, or give me bad PR or anything along those lines??? should i remove the link to the official site and let thing blow over, i seen the virus has been removed but still google is blocking access to the celeb site. thx EDIT: this is a issue to do with google.com, based on a question about google, this was posted in google section, why was this moved to website reviews i havent asked for anyone to review a site??? what support am i going to get down here... wasnt google the right spot for this issue! EDIT: just read up, i guess this isnt allowed in google forum. the mod that moved it could of answered
It used to be possible for your site to get flagged with the same warning because it links to the infected site, but I have not seen that happen in a long time, more than a year at least. However, I would still consider it prudent to remove the link, especially if it is easy for you to do that. Maybe leave the plain text but remove its link. If they've already gotten rid of the virus, the flag might get removed more quickly than you can even remove the link, but only if they also close the security hole that allowed the site to get hacked. If they didn't do that, their site could get hacked again, so watch them for a while.
settle with the drugs ok............. thanks SteveWh, it seems the virus is still on that other site so i will remove the link but leave the text. cheers.
