"This site is monetized by Google Adsense"

I just noticed that some of the referral banners that Google offers to promote Adsense say "This site is monetized by Google Adsense".

Do you think this might encourage some kind visitors to click ads in order to earn you some money, rather like "Visit our sponsors"? Is anyone using this particular banner, and if so, have you seen an increase in your Adsense revenue?

    Just curious :)

I agree, how about google letting us pick the background color of these logos to fit our sites, I'd have the logo to the left of my adsense block ;)

Interesting theory. I am currently using the other AdSense referral banner on TheAdSenseBlogger.com that says "Get targeted ads on your site with Google AdSense". I haven't noticed much of an increase that I could attribute to that change. My increases are due to increased traffic.

I think it would encourage more visitors to sign-up with google adsense (if they are siteowners themselves) coz they would also want to monetize their sites.:D
I don't think it would encourage visitors to click on your ads - on the contrary I think that discourages vistors to click - but that's my personal opinion. :)

I don't think it would encourage/discourage visitors to click because what do they care if you get paid by Google for them clicking on a particular ad/link as long as it gives them the information they are looking for?
Unless they have a personal grudge against you, I think they would click on whatever they feel would benefit them as individuals in the search for information.
Now the Affiliate Referral button, that would possibly spark a fellow webmaster's interest and he may click it for that reason. Which is the sole purpose for that button anyway.

I think the idea is that if someone wanted to contribute and saw the text "this site monetized by..." then a seed would be planted in their minds where they'd think, let me click and send a few cents the guy's way.

I think the percentage of users who think like that are small in number and that if the button looks bad, you might cause more problems than it's worth.

Something about even mentioning "this site monetized by..." bugs me. But my site was started for reasons other than adsense, (service biz). Adsense is just the icing on having a web presence to start with. The banners seem a bit over the top on my site.

brecht ::: Yes, something like it.
I think the link for more details is right next to the earnings in the adsense.
It works out good becuase any one who has clicked andsigned up will enventally earn $100 and you will be a winner too.

I think people who know about adsense would not click on things like that, but there are always new internet users everyday, u may "hope" one clicks on these..
As for me, nobody clicked on my google referrals yet
