when I did a link:sportyblog.com on google it shows zero links

don't know the answer to your question, maybe google doesn't like some of the links?

 

HeHe that's unlucky, I got a PR 3 on one of my blogs in about 3weeks.

I suggest checking the PR of the links (PR0 links aren't worth anything) and if the links have the nofollow tag, than google will just ignore them when calculating page rank.

 

The site was possibly nailed for purchasing/selling links. According to G, 351 pages are in its index so its not banned. G says 182 backlinks. Yahoo shows 92,100 incoming links and 768 pages in its index.

There are 44 outbound links on that page. That will help to drain some of the pr. Who knows, maybe the content is scraped and gets no value. It could be pr fluke as well, but I doubt it.

no it was just one a was going to do a link exchange with. it doesn't seem right though to have so many backlinks and not have any PR.

As for PR0 sites or pages being worth nothing... that is completely untrue!

 

I second that, earnings are still the same, with pr5 or 0 so PR isn't all that important. I can imaging that getting people to buy a link from u might be a little bit trickier but my sites lives on donations and some ads so overall i'm not mad about google.

 

This site has some serious juice flowing to it.

I don't get it why the Alexa ranking is so appaulingly low for a site with that many backlinks, so something smells fishy around here.

 

The only thing you should be worried about is how much money this site is making. It's time to get worried when your site is 2 years old, 1000s of links and making $0.

 

This is quite a simple answer.

Yes Yahoo reports over 93,000 backlinks. Did you look at how many "separate" sites are really linking to this site? Most of the links are coming from large blog sites (1,000s of pages indexed) and I would bet all these blogs have been flagged for selling links so they are passing NO PR juice which is why the PR is 0.

 

And why do you care about PR

Is just a number concentrate on geting rankings and traffic

 

This site has around 50 external link on home page. And the more external links there the less their value is. If your site is PR0 too you can consider a link exchange with this site.
Though I'm sure link exchange is anyway less effective than one-way backlinks.

Where did you get that false information from.

You can have a million links on your site and have a PR10, it's the share of PR juice to each of those million links that are reduced.

 

in the current update it still ended up as PR0

google must be pretty mad at that site
