Today i just try to check one of the big b2b site in thailand. http://www.thailand.com what i found was that this site used to be PR5 (or6 i forgot) and with the 10 years old domain and today it got PR0!!. Anyone would like to tell me the reason why and how the big and old website will be dropped in domain that much? thanks.
did it expire and did you pick it up as a dropped domain? It has over 5000 backlinks in Yahoo but 0 in Google.
obviously, we are getting different results on this. is there a fixed result? who gets the most common result on this? does anyone knows why is this happening, such a bad change on PR?
If your site is 0 backlinks in google definitely it shows PR0 because PR is calculated through quality backlinks. But the question is, why google shows no backlinks if your site is 10 years old? It's impossible.
it's not my domain. It's one of the government supported site. It used to rank high with good PR but today i saw it as grey bar or PR0. just wonder any big website got chnaged the same way or not. Maybe this google update will be the biggest drop in PR ever for many big sites. (if use this site as the case)
I would give it a couple of days just to be sure.. Google could be experiencing technical difficulties as many are complaining about PRx to PR0 problems.. Just doesn't seem right.
I still some inner pages get some PR3 PR2 with most of them no backlinks for example http://www.thailand.com/travel/natural/natural_waterfall.htm has PR3 and 3 backlinks .... Maybe we are experiencing the long awaited google PR update ?
no only it's long await but it might be a tragedy waiting result too. hope those sites will get their backlinks back soon. I will try to check more often and will report when they got it back.
I analysed the domain and its obvious it lost everything. Let me tell you why 1) Check info:http://www.thailand.com in google. Dont get any results. 2) Check site:http://www.thailand.com in google. Some pages indexed now check cache for homepage. 3) Cache info: This is G o o g l e's cache of http://www.thailand.com/meetworldtrade/ as retrieved on 26 Jul 2006 13:27:35 GMT.G o o g l e's cache is the snapshot that we took of the page as we crawled the web. 4) It seems the domain expired or the site was down for a very long time. Google didnt cache the site at all after 26th July. 5) It also seems the original cache page design and new design is different. All this contributed to loosing PR.
nice analysis. I didnt check that when was the last time google cached the site. This website always got a connection problem. It was too slow to load and does not really updated that much. I think that might be the reason why google didn't crawl and remove PR of it.
