This Market worth going after?

    Hi everyone - I am new here - excellent forum you have!

    I am considering developing a site in a market where the two heavy weight sites for these keywords get 600-800k in traffic per month. These sites are not very fresh looking, not well monetized, and my content will be better.

    I feel there is room in this market for another heavy weight (me), who could eventually outrank them...given time of course.

    Question for anyone here is: Is the traffic worth going after?

    Many people will say if there is two big sites already out there don't do it. However if what you say is true that you feel you will have USP and an advantage then go for it, eventhough some sites are popular they never have everything.

    I use DP but i also use sites with similar content, not just because DP doesn't have everything but because i like a change, and so do most people.

    Yeah. Provided your site is better in some respects than the heavyweights. Find out what the weaknesses of the established sites are. Also try to learn what visitors to those sites are dissatisfied with [Concerning those sites].

    Then try to put into your site the qualities and features that the established ones lack. Also add features that the visitors to those established sites desire in them and remove the qualities and features and things which the visitors to those established sites hate or find annoying.

    trouble is that you are not the only one who has spotted whatever you feel you can e a 'heavyweight' in, so research and see why there are only two heavyweights for such large traffic sites/niche.

    So you think the traffic is enough to go after?

    Basically, once the content is up, there is no maintenance, so it the site just needs to build links and age. I was concerned whether the 'pros' (you all) would think its too small a fish to waste energy and investment. But it sounds like it is. :)

    Yeah go for it; entrepreneurship is about taking risks; just take the risk ; what is the worst that could happen? But think ; what is the BEST that could happen? :)
