This is so funny... LOL.. My CJ affiliate link at the top of MSN

I found it really really funny... and funniest part is, I was wondering who the hell is having CJ affiliate link top to me maria sharapoa blog... and it was my own link... :D ...

I searched this "maria sharapova bikini" in msn and I found http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1638597-10384124 at 3rd rank below my maria sharapova blog... its at 1st and 2nd rank...

Now when I searched "sharapova maria bikini" and the affiliate link is at the top of MSN and my blog URLs at 2nd and 3rd URL.

It was kinda weird for me at first glance. When I checked out my code, I found that its my own affiliate link for screen saver.... But it was really funny.. how come MSN shows affiliate link like that at the top... or in first 3... lucky me that its my own link and I might be getting some extra bucks by having it at the top...

Congrats on getting stuff to the top. One thing I have noticed with MSN is that it seems to rank any "new" content up there. I would think if you want to remain number one that you would need to change your content around to you have something new. Just an idea.

MSN is just crap.. Smiley central is one of the most popular affiliate programs out there right now... search for it at MSN, the first result is an afiliate site (the one that ends in .info)

MSN is not crap. MSN actually generates much nicer convertions for us than any other one. So I would not call it crap.

But even if its my affiliate link, I did not like the logic they used for indexing then. As a searcher on MSN, I would not like to see some affiliate link on top of msn.

Like I have said in other places, MSN had the highest conversion of all of the search engines when I buying clicks as an advertiser. Traffic was low but the quality sure was high.

I think I know the reason about MSN. I found the difference between MSN and Google. MSN gives much more relative results than google. I know this comment is contradictory to the previous post, but MSN does not take into consideration since how long the site is live like google.. I have observed that google does not update as frequently as MSN. I post anything on my blog, and I find it in MSN. May be I am wrong, but I started liking, searching on MSN than google, because I found much more relevency in search.

Hmmmm... Interesting thought. I have not played with MSN to know if it give more relevant search results. I will have to try.

I do agree with you though in that MSN seems to not take into account how long a site has been around as well as your point about crawling more frequently. I have found like you that I can post something on my mrthrifty.net site and bang it is up on MSN within 24 hours.

MSNis by far the MOST COMMERCIAL search engine i know. (at least for my industry)

It's still under development and will soon flower into a great search engine i'm sure.

Also the link Maverick mentioned is pretty normal to appear in msn based on my experience. I have had the link http://www.mysite.com/shopper appearing #5 last year on msn for the term "online shopping". I had zero optimization done!

It was just a server redirect and ranked very well on it for a few days before it dissapeared... Maverick, i don't want to say this but i don't think you'll laugh a lot in a few weeks cuz it's highly unlikely that this link persists in msn search for too long....just my 2 cents based on my own experience

LOL Maverick. Didn't you ask me a few months ago how I got my affiliate link ranked? I truly didn't know how I did it, but somehow it happened.

So how did you do it? :D

Not to be rude or anything, but when I search for "travel info" or something like that I dont want affiliate links to show up, I want good useful content on "travel info".

The search engine that can provide the most relevant CONTENT on what I search for in my opinion is the SE that is looking out for the user.

    Am I wrong?

No, not wrong at all. But some people will click on it regardless, and when the affiliate link redirects to a respected site, they seem to be cool with it.

As long as it is a respected site I see your point. There just seems to be so much stuff to have to fumble through these days you know?

Not saying yours is bad, actually yours isnt bad at all. Im just saying the majority is cluttering the results.

LOL, Yes Mike, I was the one who asked you about your aff link at the top.. I was new in this field that time... and for the question you asked.. LOL... I guess the alt text for that link was the reason... the alt text was "maria sharapova bikini pics" ... LOL ... and that worked.

Yes Webmistress, I may not see this link on top after few days, and I dont mind about it, cause I want to pull users to my blog rather than that aff link...

well you can search google yahoo and msn for "sharapova maria bikini" and decide which one is crap in this case.
