I am just developing a directory site with a brand new domain name, with dedicated hosting with Godaddy, the domain currently has a pr0 only a month old, but the IP address of my server is pr6 with 432 backlinks? how can this be, this ip i thought was unique to my site, can anyone shed any light? And will any of this pr get passed to my domain? :D

Wishful thinking lol but hey can't blame you ;)

I am going to guess there is an over lap some where and it will be spotted shortly and changed :(

IP addresses get re-used, was probably used elsewhere.

What tool are you using to check your ip address has page rank? Page rank is tied to a domain and not an IP address, but even if it wasn't most page rank checking tools are months out of date because even though Google adjust page rank at least daily, then only update publicly about 3-4 times per year.

Sorry, but I doubt it will help you much.

    cheers
