so i was wondering why my site wasn't going anywhere up and was going down...though it is more active, has good and more links, etc...and google had not crawled it in almost 2 weeks...well i did a google webmasters fetch as google bot and it told me my site is unreachable!!

why would it not be able to reach it?

The bot follows links to your site perhaps the ones you spoke of no longer exist... Check them out. :)

URL please. Are you sure the site is not blocked from search engines?

There may be several reasons. first be sure if you added proper verifications at webmaster tools and it's showing you status verified. The possibilities are hereunder:

    1. check your hosting, may it return http errors or server timeouts. read a list of errors here. Scroll down
    2. Issue with DNS may be site is new or DNS is not propagated yet.
    3. Check your robots.txt or meta tags, may be they are blocking google bot.

    Hope this helps..

My host found it after I spoke to them. They called it "brute force detection software" that was blocking google's IP. I'm still waiting on an answer from them on what caused this. nope it was not the robots file, I actually checked that first and it came up normal. Google's IP was blocked.

Build links so that google will see that your site is active and once google knows it is active then it will be crawled.

Would you call that malware ? If someone installed a malicious program on your site and your
host is aware of it, it is also happening to others - - probably.

Yeah, that was the issue, I had recently added a bunch of very good links and Google had begun crawling the site much more often. My host's anti hacking software interpreted the frequent visits as a hacking attempt and blocked the IPs. I spoke to them and they whitelisted the IPs so it shouldn't happen again.

    Thanks everyone who replied anyway!!
