Very interesting topic and replies as well.. Hmmm, a little bit sad though.. I always try to look a brighter side of it, internet is full of garbage, but that's to be expected, as internet spreads there will always be more and more garbage, but there are also lot of quality info, to be the best, to make the money, you actually need to do it right.. To be in top 10 you need to provide the best content, no shortcuts, not in the long run anyway..
Everything you wanna know about any subject is out there, on the net..

Leave if you don't like it ;)
I've yet to notice a drop in my clients, or work available on the web.

I prefer to think of the web not so much as a cesspool, but a near-infinite slush pile. There are gems out there, but you often have to wade through lots of junk before you find them. I think hoping to change that is like hoping for world peace.

Just as in the old offline economy a writer couldn't make a living without escaping the slush pile, the same holds true of the internet. Only instead of needing the brand and marketing power of a publishing house or magazine to get read and paid, on the web you also have the option of using different kinds of marketing, like SEO. But it still helps a great deal if you come to the attention of someone influential who can recommend you to a lot of other people.

I just saw this old topic and figured out to post my opinion too.
I totally agree with you. I've tried to see all that crappy information when am trying to find something useful via Internet. On the other hand, Internet is a worldwide market where you can sell or buy anything, from an airplane to a dog shit. Why some people still write stupid e-books? There're still many idiots who buy them. Stop buying crap and nobody will try selling it.
But sometimes, cheap goods aren't bad goods. These goods were just produced in cheap countries at all. For example, your service costs 100 bucks because you live in USA, but other person offers same service for 10 bucks because that person's from India. Of course, if s/he moves in USA, her/his service will cost 100 bucks too.
Problem, many people living in poor countries are looking for fast Internet's bucks for their daily live. Most of them don't have money and time to create quality sites. They don't care the tomorrow day; they just care of the today.
Yes, there're a lot of nice sites and it's wonderfully. But their owners had enough money for a living while they built the ones.
To improve the Internet, we should improve our real world before.

I haven got to read all th eposts yet but i agree. Wher is creativity. I think the last movie I saw was a remake of Lost in Space the new Star Wars sequels a while back cant really remember. I haven been to a movie since. The same thing applies to their nternet. It seems sites are rehashed as well.
