I had a bad surprise today. One of my sites has some problems since about 2 months, with ranks dropping all of a sudden.... .... to make a long story short, after fixing some things the site did not come back yet. Today I discovered that a XXX webblog is linking to me.... the site looks spammy like crap and all that xxx content... I think that it's a link that pulls my site down. Could this be true? If yes how can I un-build that link? The site has no contact information or whatsoever. It is linking to one of the images updated on my site. If I remove that image, would it resolve the issue? Or I simply need to contact that xxx admin? P.S: I found this out, after I saw that half of my top search queries provided by the Google Webmaster Tools where queries for foreign words unknown to me, that had no relationship with my website..... Once I searched on google I saw that they are some foreign language keywords for xxx sites. :|
Just contact the admin of that site as removing the image won't remove the link. I'm not sure if the link could bring your site down unless this is a really bad site with a bad neighbourhood. Let us know the outcome.
The idea is that the site has no contact information, how could I contact the admin? I will let you know for sure.
That really stinks. I had a similar situation where someone was coming into my forum and putting his website (which I allowed) and the website was nothing but a list of drug names linking to nowhere. I didn't get it but some porn sites ended up there as well. A friend of mine who is no longer available for some reason set the forum up for me and I had no way to edit this. I ended up having to take the forum down in the end. Sheree
Uhhh, sad to hear this. Here the problem is not on my side, because I could easily remove the picture. I need the other admin that is linking to me to remove my link from his website.... And the worst part is, that he has no contact info on the site, so I don't see how to reach him.
