I was actually discussing this with my mother the other day, and we both agreed. You know the security questions that sites like PayPal, Yahoo, and some banks ask? Like, "Mothers maiden name", "Your first pet's name", and "Your first street address" or whatever. They're a little bit bland, aren't they? I mean, anyone who knew me well could guess that my mother's maiden name was Sue, my first pet's name was Fluffy, and I grew up on a street called Abby Road. Plus, most people just have one e-mail address (bobthebuilder@gmail.com) for everything, so if they knew that, viola! They're stealing from your credit card, using your eBay account, etc. I think there should be a change in this in the future, I think now that everyone basically has the same IP, with the growing of broadband, they could just bind their accounts to that and not even ask for passwords. Anyway, those are just my thoughts, I've only ever had a password problem once, and that's when I used to use 1234 as my password, now I use 4321, haha.
My bank has a great question. "What was your grandfathers nickname"? Since I didn't even know what it had been until a few years ago, I don't think anyone outside of my family would know.
Wells Fargo allows you to create your own hint question and answer. I really do think the middle man groups like paypal don't use this option due to the amount of people who forget both the question and answer they provide. I do however agree with you. It's a little lazy
