Attachment 1: A copy of the traffic statistics for my website over the last year. How much money do you think you could produce from Adsense with this kind of traffic? The website is Braves.Net -- a website devoted to the Atlanta Braves baseball team. A great target demographic across the board. I'm making $2-4 a day on adsense. I feel as though I should be making a great deal of money off of this website. Should I be 'optimizing' my keywords? I'm such a rookie to the whole Adsense game, but I know I should be making more than $100 a month. I think. Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I am willing to pay somebody to help me get this site producing.
Maybe theres another advertising company you could use try yahoo or msn?? theres other sites out there, that mainly target the big sites, yours has alot of visits, and impressions, should be good, try adbrite, or something similar, you can actually sell add space to users.
Are the ads relevant to your content? Is the majority of this from a forum? What kind of ad blending are you doing? It'd kinda be hard without a URL to tell exactly what's going on..
You should consider affiliate programs as well. You can sell tickets and apparel on your site and make a commission. I have a similar site for the washington nationals. My site doesnt have as much traffic or revenue as yours but i just started a few months ago.
Personally I'd move one of your ad blocks right into your content. Just one of the box-type ads, floated left, with the content ragging to the right. Also, you would probably do much better going with a blended ad instead of a complimentary colored ad (ie, match the background color, drop the border, etc.)
I'm getting as many clicks as you with only 300 impressions a day. With traffic you're getting, it should be able to pull at least $1000 a month from adsense alone. CTR is the key. Ad placement and blending is essential for good CTRs. Get rid of that leaderboard. Use a square box that appears smack in the middle of the page when it loads. use the same font and colour for the links and description text as the rest of the page. Give that a go and see how it turns out. Track your ads by giving them channels.
You might just have bad positioning of your ads. I run AdSense on my site and I get $20-30/day with just a little bit more traffic and only a quarter of the bandwidth. It really depends on the niche of your site and what kind of traffic you're attracting. I get 100% SE traffic and my industry is really consumer oriented, so it attracts a lot of clicks.
Iwas expecting this to be a site arther than a blog. Anyway, perhaps you can remove the bacground to match the colour of your site and remove the border as well.
Try this for blending ads into your forums. As the other members have said blend your ads in better on your mainsite. Use same color background on your adsense ads as your site and same color links as the normal links on your site. Try a side bar skyscraper ad on the right side of the content and just keep experimenting on a weekly basis with different ad colors and placements youll be back in a month with double your current earnings
Yes, I have some pages that got a lot of page impressions but no clicks at all. I came on this forum and moaned about it! Then I decided to move my ads out of the left margin and into the middle of the text. Well, I can't say that the CTR went through the roof, but at least I now get SOME clicks. One good thing is that if you get a large amount of traffic, you can experiment with different ad styles, positions and colors, and see very quickly which works best. Try one layout and let it run for 1000 page impressions, and look at the CTR. Now change the layout and let that run for 1000 impressions and look at the CTR again. You'll need to set up some Custom Channels to do the monitoring though. If a lot of your visitors come to your site and only look at one page then leave again, the more central you put your ads on the page, the more chance that someone will read them.
You descibed your site better in this sentence than you do on the site itself. Here's what I got off your forum: Meta Keywords : Minor League Central vbulletin forum bbs discussion jelsoft bulletin board Meta Description : A place to talk about the 'baby' Braves. Meta Description : This is a discussion forum powered by vBulletin. To find out about vBulletin, go to http:// www. vbulletin. com/ Page Title: Minor League Central - Braves.Net Community Your main page Braves.net has no attached keywords at all. When I went through your site, 5 out of 6 ads were for office supplies, probably adsense is playing on the words "bulletin board". You don't have the words baseball or Atlanta anywhere. And the title "Braves.net Community" on your forum won't mean anything beyond jiberish to adsense. Your ads could be blended better, but without getting relevant ads, it won't help. You should be getting 10 times the clicks with your traffic. I assume much of your traffic is Atlanta locals or people who may be traveling there. Change your keywords and descriptions. Add things like "atlanta ga", "major league baseball", "sports tickets", "super 8 atlanta hotels", "sports broadcasting", "atlanta singles", "online sports gambling", "days inn atlanta", "extended stay atlanta" and drop those bulletin and bbs keywords. Let me know when you make it big, and I'll come for my cut.
lo....60.000 uniques and only 10.000 impressions? i think you get like 100 times more if you put them on all of your ages.
you could probably make a ton of cash through other forums of marketing, send me a PM and I will give you the low down!
