Alright. I just want to make sure I am not breaking any of Google's rules, so please help me out here.

    Here is my blog: http://www.freebieshark.com

Above my posts, I have a box that says "Sponsored Links", which looks like a post. I have a google ad in that box...is this fine with Google?

I'm not breaking any rules, am I?

    Thank you:)

This is absolutely fine. Google just mandates that people should be able to easily distinguish ads, and thats the case with your setup. So, you are fine.

I say just get rid of the "Sponsored links" line an just put only the ad there an then u can set ur corners rounded from withing adsense itself.

No. It is against TOS. You can not have a word like this. Sponsored links are against TOS. Get rid of them before you get caught.

I think it is against Google's TOS. The advertisers look to be sponsors and people could click on them to read about your sponsors who are not sponsors. Therefore it is misleading. The position is good and should have reasonable CTR anyway. If it is debatable, I'd remove it.

Thanks everybody for their input. Just to play it safe, I removed the text.. I'm still not exactly sure if it was allowed, but I didn't want to take a chance

Here is the first hand experience:
When I started running ads on my website a few months back, I had ads right below headlines. I got an email from Google saying that I should add a text "Sponsored Links" above my ad otherwise they will stop displaying ads on my website. So, that's what I did, and its working fine since. You can check that out here.
I think this should put this discussion to rest :)

    "Sponsored Ads" would sound better.

only listen to me, here's the definitive answer:
yes it is not against adsense tos since they advice only sponsored links and advertisements, or.. things like that.
So users who said the contrary are just dumb or trolls, there's no other explanation.
Now, what is true is that it would be better, in my opinion, to not have anything above ads, nothing is better than sponsored links or advertisements. There's already the mandatory ads by google, and I think it's already enough.

But that is my personal opinion.
    So:
1- sponsored links is not against tos
2- I advise you put nothing above ads
